BACnet/IP devices are connected directly to the IP Ethernet network. The network engine communicates with the devices using the BACnet protocol and presents the BACnet data to the system in the same way as the other data in the Metasys system. The following figure shows the SNE1050 integrated into the Metasys network. Other BACnet/IP devices are integrated in the same way.

The NAE85 allows integration of larger BACnet integration
projects.
Important: The following configuration is
allowed with NAE85s at Release 11.0 or earlier only.
At Release 12.0, the NAE85 can act as a Site
Director only. In the following example, you could
remove the ADS/ADX and use the NAE85 as Site
Director to support Release 12.0.
