  1. Log on to the SBH and ensure that the System Mode in the facility view for all zones is set to Auto before performing update.
  2. Insert a fully blank USB memory drive into the zone coordinator’s USB port.
  3. From the SBH200 user interface, go to Settings > Backup and take a backup of the VZC. When the backup is complete, remove the USB drive from the VZC100 and transfer the file from the USB drive to another location on your PC. Delete the backup file from the USB drive. See the Backup section for more details.
  4. Navigate to the Devices page and expand the zone coordinator you want to update. The zone bus devices display under the zone coordinator. Physically disconnect the zone bus using the brown or gray connector from the VZC.
Note: Do not disconnect the system bus.
  5. Wait until all zone bus devices go offline.
  6. Navigate to the Devices page, at the bottom of the page select the Remove Offline Devices on the SBH200 user interface. Verify that zone bus devices are no longer visible under the zone coordinator on the Devices page.
  7. Obtain the patch from the partners portal on https://verasyscontrols.com or request the patch file by email to be-verasyssupport@jci.com.
  8. Copy the vvvvvv_ VZCUSB.pkg to a USB memory drive and insert into the VZC. A red fault light blinks rapidly to indicate the upgrade is active. If the red fault light does not blink after one minute, recycle power to the VZC.
Note: The USB memory drive must be FAT or FAT32 format. NTFS and USB 3.0 file systems are not supported.
  9. Wait 10 to 15 minutes, the red fault LED may turn off or flash once per second when the update is complete. You can also navigate to the Devices > Zone Coordinator > Unit > Provisioning status. When the staus is complete the provisioning command shows No command and the provisioning status shows Success. When the update is confirmed, remove the USB drive from the VZC100 and reconnect the zone bus.
  10. To update the zone or bypass controllers navigate to the zone coordinator Unit menu and select System Package Mismatch Information to determine any firmware mismatch. If there is a mismatch, repeat step 6 but do not disconnect the zone bus on this occasion, only re-insert the USB memory drive. The VZC Unit menu displays the update and progress status of any devices.
  11. Reboot the SBH200 when updates are complete, to do this navigate to Settings > System Settings and click the red Reboot SBH button.
