When you connect to the Internet for remote access, there are different methods of connection. Each method has a different level of security assurance.
You can connect to the Internet for remote access with a Virtual private network (VPN) device - Highest level of security assurance. This is the most secure method of remote access to Verasys. Make sure that you configure the VPN connection correctly, and that you meet the minimum password strength requirements. As this method is the most complex option for remote access, it is best practice to work with your IT department when you implement a VPN solution.
Note: Installing a certificate only protects the session, it does not mitigate the risks associated with exposing the web ports to the Internet.
