The information in the following task supports the information from the Verasys Smart Building Hub (SBH) Quick Start Guide (Part No. 24-10737-00229). The default login credentials for each SBH are on a sticker in the quick start guide that ships with each device. Connect to the SBH through Wi-Fi. If you connect to your SBH through Ethernet, see the Ethernet section.

To connect to the SBH for the first time, complete the following steps:

  1. Use the supplied field bus adapter to connect the RS-485 port on the SBH to the field bus port on the equipment controller.
  2. Insert the provided WLAN USB adapter into either USB port on the SBH200. The flashing LEDs indicate that the device is initializing. The SBH is ready for use when the FAULT LED turns Off and the Wi-Fi AP flashes.
  3. Use your default credentials to connect to the SBH Wi-Fi network. These credentials are included on a sticker in the quick start guide that ships with your device.
  4. In your browser, navigate to the following URL: https://192.168.142.1 to open the SBH interface.
    Note: The SBH ships with a private SSL certificate pre-installed to ensure secure communication. However, this certificate does not indicate that it is trusted in a browser. If you want to install your own certificate, refer to Public and private keys.
  5. Follow the guidance below that applies to your selected browser:
    • For Google© Chrome™, the display page states that your connection is not private. Click Advanced > Proceed to 192.168.142.1 (unsafe).
    • For Microsoft© Edge™, the display page states that this site is not secure. Click Details > Go on to the webpage (Not recommended). This allows access to the SBH login page.
    • For Safari™, the display page states that this connection is not private. This website may be impersonating 192.168.142.1 or smartbuildinghub.com to steal your personal information. Return to the previous page. Click Show details > visit this website . This allows access to the SBH login page.
  6. Read and accept the SBH license agreement. The Change Password and Passphrase page appears.
  7. Change the Admin password and Wi-Fi passphrase. Click Save.
