The analog output signal limiting feature on the System 450 control modules with communications reduces the rate at which an analog output updates its output signal strength in response to input signal changes.
When it controls a device such as a modulating actuator, the analog output signal limiting feature can help lengthen actuator life by reducing the actuator position update frequency. The following parameters control this feature:
- Output signal update rate: Select the rate in seconds at which an analog output updates the output signal to the controlled equipment
- Output signal dead band: Create a deadband for the analog output signal within which the output signal strength remains constant
See Table 1 for information on the System 450 control modules with the analog output signal limiting feature.
