  • Ensure that you have sufficient space for cable and wire connections.
  • Ensure that the location you choose to mount the zone coordinator is areas free of corrosive vapors. For more information about environmental limitations, see Technical Specifications.
  • Ensure that the ambient temperatures in the location of the zone coordinator do not exceed 122°F (50°C).
  • Do not mount the zone coordinator on surfaces prone to vibration or in areas where electromagnetic emissions can interfere with zone coordinator communication.
  • Do not obstruct the zone coordinator housing ventilation holes.
  • Do not mount power transformers below the zone coordinator.
  • Do not mount the zone coordinator outdoors.
  • Do not install the zone coordinator in airtight enclosures.
  • Ensure that power and communications wiring is in compliance with all local, national, and regional codes, and with customer requirements.
  • Ensure that the mounting surface can support the zone coordinator and any user-supplied enclosure.

To mount the enclosure model on a wall or vertical surface, complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure there is no electromagnetic interference with other components in the near vicinity. Use appropriate conduit to connect the power and communications wiring.
  2. Mount the zone coordinator in an upright position.
  3. Ensure that the enclosure is level.
  4. If you must mount the zone coordinator on an uneven surface, ensure that you do not to crack the zone coordinator housing when tightening the screws. Use shims or washers to mount the zone coordinator securely and evenly on the surface.
  5. Hold the zone coordinator mounting base up to the wall.
  6. Mark the location of the wall mount holes.
  7. Drill pilot holes at the locations marked in accordance with the type of wall anchor you use.
  8. Position the mounting base.
  9. Insert the screws through the holes in the base.
  10. Carefully tighten the screws.
  11. Align the side tabs on the face of the zone coordinator with the tabs on the mounting base and carefully snap the face of the zone coordinator in place.
  12. Inspect the mounted circuit board to ensure the following:
    • The board is mounted securely
    • There are no loose wire strands or other metal objects that could cause a short circuit
