- Install the ZEC510 on the VAV box, refer to Verasys ZEC510 VAV Controllers Installation Guide Part No. 24-10143-01485. Ensure the NS8000 sensor is connected to the SA bus of the ZEC with 22-4 awg shielded cable.
- Note the direction, clockwise (CW) or counterclockwise (CCW), you require to close the damper. This information is needed for configuration.
- Ensure you can manually move the actuator. To do this, hold down the red gear
release button and turn the damper shaft. If it cannot move freely,
loosen the locking mechanism, move it 90 degrees and lock it down
again.Figure 1. Moving the actuator
Table 1. Moving the actuator Number Description 1 Damper 2 Damper shaft 3 Gear release button Note: See Appendix A: Johnson Controls manufactured VAV box characteristics for more information to close all JCI brands of VAV boxes. - See the previous Mounting and wiring section from step 10 onwards to ensure relevant devices are wired, addressed and correctly started before power is applied to the ZEC 510.
- Connect the NS8000 sensor to the sensor bus. When multiple sensors are used, you must wire them in a daisy chain configuration and each sensor address must be set to a unique value. If you use wireless one-to-one sensors, refer to the WRZ Series One-to-One Wireless Room Sensing System Technical Bulletin (LIT-12011641).
- Apply power to the ZEC510.
- Ensure that the zone coordinator and zone bus devices communicate to the SBH300. You can refer to the Verasys Zone Coordinator Installation Guide (Part No. 24-10143-1280) and navigate to the Troubleshooting section for information about LED flash rates and voltage measurements to verify communication.
