You can use the Verasys Sideloop application to design simple loops that control various types of equipment. System configuration involves the following activities:

  1. Define inputs, outputs, and netsensors
  2. Enable the number and type of control loops that you want
  3. Configure each control loop

You can define the following types of control loops:

  • Analog control loop
  • Binary control loop
  • Multistage control (MSC) loop

The following table lists the maximum number of control loops that you can enable, and the available control strategies for the system logic.

Table 1. Control loop
Control loop type Maximum number of loops Available control strategies
Analog 3
  • Reset span
  • PID control
  • PID control with reset
  • Binary to analog
Note: You can also define an additional binary interlock for this control loop type.
Multistage 1
  • Reset span
  • PID control
  • PID control with reset
Note: You can also define an additional binary interlock for this control loop type.
Binary 6
  • Analog to binary
  • Binary interlock
