Deadband The deadband is used to separate the effective heating and cooling setpoints so that the unit does not try to control heating and cooling at the same time. For example, setting the temperature setpoint to 72 with a deadband of 2 means the effective cooling is 74 and the effective heating is 70 when the unit is occupied and the setpoint adjust is set to 0.
