Before you begin

Use separate USB 2.0 drives to store the application file, clean file, and backup configuration files. Format the USB drives for the FAT or FAT32 format.

Procedure

  1. To back up the VAC configuration .csv files, insert a USB drive into the USB port on the controller and navigate to Update > Backup. Record the date and time for each LC-VAC1000-0 controller if you are updating multiple controllers.
  2. Download the clean and application package files from the Partners Portal on http://verasyscontrols.com or request the package files through email at http://be-verasyssupport@jci.com .
  3. If the VAC1000 is connected to the Smart Building Hub, remove the system bus connection and remove offline devices in the Devices page. Refer to the Devices section of the Verasys System User Guide (LIT-12012371).
  4. Download the Clean_VAC1000_xxxx.pkg to the root folder of a blank USB drive and then download the CV_App_VAC1000_x.x.x.x.pkg to the root folder of another blank USB drive.
  5. Insert the USB drive with the clean package into the USB port on the controller.
  6. On the controller local display, navigate to Update > Load Firmware > Clean_VAC1000_x.x.x.x.pkg and press Enter.
  7. When the clean package finishes and the local display shows Clean, remove the USB drive.
  8. Insert the USB drive with the application package into the USB port.
  9. If the update does not start automatically, navigate to Update > Load Firmware > CV_App_VAC1000_x.x.x.x.pkg and press Enter.
  10. When the application update finishes, navigate to Controller > Firmware and verify that the version is updated correctly.
  11. To restore your backup configuration file, insert the USB drive with the backup files into the controller, and navigate to Update > Restore. Select the appropriate backup .csv file and press Enter.
  12. Reconnect the system bus to the controller.
