You can use the Analog Inputs option to set the individual configuration of additional universal analog inputs on the HMS1655, based on the selected mode for each. You can configure each of the secondary analog inputs (AI-2 through AI-4) for the following:
  • Sash position
  • Pressure
  • Flow
  • Humidity

You can use the Analog Inputs option on the System Setup menus to configure the two thermistor inputs as required by the specific installation. The option also includes target setpoints for each thermistor used as the input channel for one of the PID control outputs, for example, for temperature control applications.

You can also use the Analog Outputs option to configure the individual additional universal analog outputs on the HMS1655. You can configure each of the secondary analog outputs for proportional (direct) analog output mode or PID analog output mode. As with the primary analog output (AO-1), you can independently map each of the secondary analog outputs to any of the available analog inputs. This includes any one of the four universal analog inputs or either of the two dedicated thermistor inputs. You can also configure each analog output for either direct acting or reverse acting mode as required by the specific application.

You can use the Digital Inputs option to configure individual additional digital inputs on the HMS1655. You can configure each of the secondary digital inputs for one of four input types:
  • Sash switch
  • Occupancy switch
  • Override switch
  • Flow switch
If you do not use any of the digital inputs, you can disable them individually at the Digital Inputs configuration popup screen.

You can use the Relay Setup option to configure individual additional relay outputs on the HMS1655.

You can configure each of the secondary relay outputs for one of two trigger modes: Setpoints or Operating Mode. Setpoints Mode uses a pair of setpoints to determine when to activate or deactivate the alarm relay. Operating Mode uses the operating mode of the fume hood to determine when to activate or deactivate the alarm relay.

You can use the PID Loop Setup option to configure individual additional PID control loops based on the requirements of the specific application. Each of the secondary PID control loops corresponds directly with the associated secondary analog output. As with the primary PID loop settings, you can independently tune the three constants (proportional, integral, derivative) for the required response at each analog output.

You can use the Alarms Setup option to configure all the individual settings associated with the alarm functionality of the HMS1655. This includes all of the individual alarms, alarm setpoints, and alarm buzzers. The flexibility of the alarm capabilities incorporated in the HMS1655 is unmatched and can be tailored to meet most specification requirements.

You can use the Engineering Units option to select between imperial and metric units for each analog input resource, including the two thermistor inputs. The default selection is Imperial units for all analog inputs.

You can use the Passwords Setup option to manage the system security password facility incorporated into the HMS1655. Up to 10 unique multiple access level passwords may be stored in the unit to prevent unauthorized access to the system menus and configuration settings.

Selection of one of the secondary analog inputs from the Analog Inputs Setup menu opens the Select Input Type configuration screen. If you select Analog Input 1, the same options accessed through the Controller Setup menus are moveable.
