About this task

The HMS1655 features a comprehensive closed-loop control scheme with sash control and sidewall sensors. The sash control activates when the sash moves and immediately positions the exhaust damper at the calibrated position to provide the required face velocity at the sash opening.

When the sash stops moving, the PID control loop uses the sidewall sensor to fine-tune the face velocity to meet the target setpoint.

Procedure

  1. From the Sash Setup menu, tap Sash Control.
  2. On the Width configuration screen, enter the width of the sash opening in inches.
Note: The sash opening width and height calculates the effective flow in cfm.
  3. After you enter the sash width, tap Next to advance to the first calibration screen where the sash moves to the closed position. Wait for the face velocity to stabilize near the current setpoint.
  4. Tap Next to advance to the next calibration screen. Move the sash to the quarter open position and wait for the face velocity to resume the target setpoint.
  5. Tap Next to advance to the next calibration screen. Move the sash to the half open position and wait for the face velocity to resume the target setpoint.
  6. Tap Next to advance to the next calibration screen. Move the sash to the three-quarter open position and wait for the face velocity to resume the target setpoint.
  7. Tap Next to advance to the next calibration screen. Move the sash to the full open position and wait for the face velocity to resume the target setpoint.
  8. To view the calibration results, tap Next.
