About this task

Note: To continue an offline activation for a product not listed in the License Inventory table, skip steps 1 and 2, and click the Add License button instead to open the Choose Activation Method dialog box.

Procedure

  1. Click the Choose Actions menu in the License Actions column.
  2. Click Activate New.
  3. Click Offline with a License Activation File.
  4. Enter the path for the license activation file, or click the folder, browse to the file and click Open. Alternatively, you can open the file and copy and paste it in the Enter the path for the license activation file, or click the folder, browse to the file and click Use a string field.
    Note: In the Activate Offline wizard, the following message displays You are about to activate the following features with a table that lists the License Type and Features associated with the license. If you use an invalid activation file or string, Error! displays in the License Type column. If the activation file or string are invalid, an error message displays in red in the Features column. The Bundle icon displays beside the license type if more than one feature is activated using the activation file or string entered.
  5. Click Activate to activate the license if no error message displays, or click cancel to exit.

    If the offline activation fails, verify the following and see Troubleshooting for more information:

    • The license activation file is valid and not activated on another machine.
    • If you used the Use a string option, recheck that you copied and pasted the full content of the file.
