With Application Programming Interface (API) Access, users can retrieve information from their system network. Use API Access to read and write system data from a custom application with the same high level of security as when you access system data through the SMP UI. To perform a data request using a custom application, you need an API Access account and the appropriate network and application privileges. The API type access works with public APIs. However, an API user has limited access capabilities on the SMP UI and SCT UI. Therefore, if you need the full capabilities of either UI, define a Standard Access user.
