About this task

To restore an archive database from either a Database backup or an Export File that is listed in the Backups pane for an archive, complete the following steps:

Note: You cannot restore a Database backup that is at Release 12.0 or earlier within SCT Pro. Only backups at SCT Release 13.0 and later appear in the Backups pane. To use SCT Pro to restore a Database backup at Release 12.0 or earlier, locate the .DbExport file on the SCT computer, then see How do I restore an archive from a downloaded file? to complete the required steps.
Note: If you uninstall SCT, tracked database backups are lost. However, the files are still present at the Backup Location, which has a default setting of C:\ProgramData\Johnson Controls\MetasysIII\DatabaseFiles.
Note: If you create a Database backup, the backup is also available in the SCT. In the SCT select Tools > Database > Restore Backup.

Procedure

  1. Open an archive.
  2. In the Backups pane, click a backup to select it.
  3. Below the Backups pane, click Actions, and then click Restore Backup.
    The Restore Backup window appears.
  4. Optional: In the Restore as field, enter the name for the restored archive.
Important: The restored archive overwrites any archive that has the same name as the value that you enter in the Restore as field.
  5. Optional: If the certificates in the archive are password protected, enter the password in the password field.
  6. Click Restore Archive. To confirm that the restore task completes successfully, view the corresponding entry in the Action Queue.
