About this task

Note: All prerequisite software for SCT and the Software Manager software is installed first, then the SCT software is installed. If the install does not detect .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later on your computer, .NET Framework 4.6.1 is installed.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the SCT installation file from the License Portal.
  2. Run MetasysSystemConfigurationTool_13.2.exe. The Metasys System Configuration Tool Setup window appears.

  3. Click Install.

  4. If the message Install will continue after restart appears, click Restart Now to restart your computer. The installation continues after you restart the computer and log on to Windows.

  5. Click Finish. The installation is complete.

  6. Obtain field controller packages from the License Portal. To import a field controller package double-click on the package collection file or use the Package Importer, located in the Start menu. The Package Importer displays the message Finished importing device when the import is complete.
  7. Click the Add License button in the Software Manager to license SCT software and field controller packages. Choose the activation method you would like to use for the license: Online with a Product Key, or Offline with a License Activation File. Once added, SCT software and field controller package licenses display in the License Inventory.
    Note: The Software Manager only lists field controller packages after you apply a license. Installed, but unlicensed, field controller packages are not listed in the Software Manager.

    Note: If you do not license the SCT software after installation, the Software License Check dialog box appears when you access the SCT.
  8. After you install and license the SCT software, download engine images for the devices on your site from the Johnson Controls License Portal. For more information, refer to the Extracting the Engine Images to Your Computer section of the NAE Update Tool Help (LIT-12011524) .
