About this task

Note: The laptop, computer, or server on which you intend to install the NCT must meet the minimum requirements described in Minimum computer and operating system requirements. Also, you must remove any previous release of NCT before installing a new release of the NCT.

To install the NCT:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NAE Configuration Tool folder on the product disk and double-click the NICTool.exe file. The Welcome screen appears (Figure 1).

  2. Click Install.
    Note: If the WinPcap utility is not already installed on your computer, a WinPcap Setup Wizard screen appears during NCT installation (Figure 2). If WinPcap is already installed on your computer, the WinPcap Setup Wizard does not appear. Go to Step 6 to complete installation the NCT.
  3. Click Next in the WinPcap Setup Wizard welcome screen (Figure 2) to start the WinPcap installation.

  4. Accept the default values and settings on all screens of the WinPcap Setup wizard.

  5. Click Finish (Figure 3). The WinPcap Setup Wizard closes and NCT setup continues.
  6. Click Finish in the NCT InstallShield Wizard complete screen (Figure 4). The NCT is now installed and ready for use.
