To find crash files on an NAE45 or NAE55:

  1. Start the NCT.
  2. On the Connections tab, select a device, then click Connect to connect to a network engine.

  3. On the Explorer tab, click Get All Debug Files, select a destination for the files, then click OK. This transfers the crash and map files associated with the selected device. If you want to store your files in a new folder, click Make New Folder (Figure 1).

When the transfer is complete (refer to the Connection Activity pane for successful completion results), use Windows File Explorer to browse to and open the files you saved.
Note: The dmlog.txt file is located in the subfolder \storage\dmlog.txt.
  4. Right-click the file and open with Notepad. The file should be similar to the example in Figure 2.

Note: In this example, the shutdowns appear to be due to external circumstances, such as loss of power to the network engine. If the device is shut down by pressing the NCT’s Restart Device button, the device shuts down immediately and no log of shutdown messages is recorded in dmlog.txt.
