The following figure is an example of a Metasys network using the WRG1830/ZFR183x Pro Series Wireless Field Bus system.
The WRG1830/ZFR183x Pro Series Wireless Field Bus System provides a wireless platform for Metasys field controllers using Johnson Controls Metasys BACnet protocol. The system consists of at least one Wireless Field Bus Gateway/Coordinator that is connected to a network engine. It also has one or more Wireless Field Bus Routers, each connected to any Metasys BACnet CGM, CVM, FEC16, FEC26, FAC26, or VMA16 Series Controller. In addition to new routers and gateways, the TEC3000 Series thermostat family (by TEC31xx SKU numbers) is updated to include new models that are compatible with the ZFR183x Pro Series. Additionally, the new WRZ -2 Series Sensors are enhanced with a new firmware to enable compatibility with the ZFR183x Pro Series.
The WRG1830/ZFR183x Pro Series Wireless Field Bus systems use DSSS wireless technology and operates on the 2.4 GHz ISM band. The system also meets the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for low power, low duty-cycle wireless transmitting systems. For more details on the ZFR Wireless systems, refer to the applicable technical bulletin.
