You can use an Ethernet connection to send Diagnostic traces with the UDP protocol when the destination is an IPv4 address and you define a UDP port number.

To see diagnostic traces on your computer, run the VPDDiagConsole tool. You can obtain this tool from Johnson Controls SIS Engineering Tools. To start this tool, copy VPDDiagConsole.exe to the commissioning computer and run it in a command prompt. You can then define the port in the VPDDiagConsole tool. The port number can range from 1 to 65535.

Use a batch file to avoid mistakes when you type parameters.

Note: Check the security settings on your computer before you run the VPDDiagConsole tool because antivirus software may block the tool from running on your computer.

Verify that the UDP ports in the computer's firewall are configured correctly. Refer to Opening ports and configuring the Windows firewall in SCT Installation and Upgrade Instructions (LIT-12012067) for instructions.
