About this task
Important: Each KNX IP Gateway has
its own unique IP address. Specify the IP address only once for the network engine.
Procedure
- Use the Launcher to log on to the network engine's SMP. If you need to install the Launcher, refer to Launcher Installation Instructions (LIT-12011783).
- Drag the KNX integration object from the navigation panel to the display panel. The Focus tab for the KNX integration appears.
- Click Insert > Field Device . The Insert Field Device Wizard appears.
- In the Destination window, select KNX Integration and click Next.

In the Select Definition Mode window, click
Manual. Enter a unique field device definition in the
Vendor Reference field, and click
Next.

In the Identifier window, enter a unique name for the
device, and click Next.

- In the Configure window, click Next.
- Click Finish to close the Summary window.

View the default parameters of the new device and modify them
as necessary. See Figure 3.
These parameters must match the Vendor Configuration Data settings you enter as
shown in Figure 2 of
Using an import file to insert field points.
- Drag the new device object from the navigation panel to the display panel.
- Click the Hardware tab.
- Click Edit.
- Click the browse button in the Vendor Configuration Data field to open the Modify List dialog box. Figure 3 shows the default values.
- Modify the
parameters as necessary. The system automatically saves any changes. See
Table 1

Represents an IP address that is dependent on the connection mode (parameter 2).- If parameter 2 is set to N, you must set parameter 1 to the IP address of the KNX IP device.
- If parameter 2 is set to Y, you must set the IP address to the multicast address used in the KNX routers. The standard KNX multicast address is 224.0.23.12.

Represents the connection mode of the device.- Tunneling mode is N.
- Routing mode is Y.
- Click OK to close the Modify List dialog box. If you did not modify any parameters, you have completed the process. If you modified parameters, proceed to the next step.
- With the device object in the display panel, click Action > Command in the SMP menu. The Metasys Command window appears.
- Click Disable, and then click Send. The device goes offline after a few seconds.
- Open the Metasys Command window again, click Enable, and then click Send. When the device comes back online, the new parameters take effect.
