An NAE is a web-enabled, Ethernet-based, supervisory engine that connects BAS networks to IP networks and the web. You can use an NAE to monitor and control BAS field devices from a computer. To launch the user interface for the NAE, use the Launcher application that is installed with the NAE software. To upgrade or reinstall the Launcher application, refer to the Launcher Installation Instructions (LIT-12011783).

All NAEs provide scheduling, alarm and event management, trending, energy management, data exchange, and password protection. NAE85s require a Microsoft® Windows Server® operating system.
