About this task

Follow these steps to select a time server for a Metasys Server Site Director when the time synchronization method is Multicast.

Procedure

  1. Log on the Metasys Server Site Director.
  2. Drag the Site object to the display frame.
  3. Select Advanced.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. In the Time section under the Time Sync Method drop-down box, verify the selection is set to Multicast.

  6. In the Site Time Servers list, click the browse button and add the IP address or host name of the SNTP Time Server that furnishes the master time to the network engine Site Director. Leave the Device Time Servers list blank.
    Note: Specify a host name only if a DNS server is available to the Site Director.
  7. Click Save.
