This section guides you through the process of modifying and adding the necessary software for the VMA1832 replacement controller on your existing first generation Metasys PMI Network NCM on an N2 trunk.

Note: We recommend using a standard application to minimize changes to object references. However, be aware that the CSG model point attributes may change, and references at both the NCM and the NIE could be affected. If there are processes at the NIE using GIO attribute data, consider disabling those processes until the NCM is updated and the CSG object can be rediscovered and mapped. See Updating the NIE Configuration for more information.

This section details NCM uploads, NCM downloads, the UNDDL process (a decompile of the Data Definition Language Files), the DDL process (a compile of the data definition files), database archive, and field controller point database generation. These processes can be performed on the archive PMI workstation or a directly connected computer that has PMI, GPL, and the HVAC PRO suite of programming software loaded on it. The computer must also be capable of downloading databases to the NCM.
