The Point Mapping Utility defines points using Object Type, Units, and States Text attributes as they would appear for HVAC PRO applications. For N2 application points created using CCT to display properly in the Metasys system, the automatic mapping may need to be changed. See Appendix: Understanding the SCT and Online UI Insert Point Wizard Point Mapping Utility for more information.
Units boxes with no option selected must have an option selected if the PRN file indicates that particular point requires a unit (see Appendix: Understanding the SCT and Online UI Insert Point Wizard Point Mapping Utility for more information).
- Locate the first point which has no option
selected in the Units column. The first empty Units box in this example is the
OCCTIME point (Figure 1). Figure 1. OCCTIME PointFind the corresponding point entry in the application's PRN file. In the Point Mapping Utility, set the Units selector to match the units listed in the PRN file. The unit for the OCCTIME point in this example is minutes (Figure 2).
Figure 2. Populated OCCTIME Units
- Search for the next Units box with no
option selected (if applicable) (Figure 3). Figure 3. OCCLEVEL PointThe SD_SF_BEL_xxx_SP_IP.prn file does not indicate any units for the OCCLEVEL point. In this instance, no unit should be selected.
- Search for the next Units box with no
option selected (if applicable). The next empty Units box in this example is OCC-S
(Figure 4). Figure 4. OCC-S Point
- In this example, the
SD_SF_BEL_xxx_SP_IP.prn file indicates the unit is Occupancy Mode, which is a set
name. The PRN file also indicates the Net Point Type is ADI and the Object Type is
AI. As mentioned in Examining Units in the Point Mapping Utility, update
the Object Type from AI to an object type that supports the States Text attribute,
such as MI (Figure 5). Note: The set for the OCC-S point in the Metasys UI must be specified after the Point Mapping Utility is complete.Figure 5. Updated OCC-S Point
- Search for the next Units box with no
option selected (if applicable). The next empty Units box in this example is
OCCSCHED (Figure 6). Figure 6. OCCSCHED Point
- The SD_SF_BEL_xxx_SP_IP.prn file indicates
the unit is Occ Mode 4 States which is a set name. The PRN file also indicates the
Net Point Type is ADI and the Object Type is AO. As mentioned in Appendix: Understanding the SCT and Online UI Insert Point Wizard Point Mapping Utility,
update the Object Type from AO to MO. Note: The set for the OCCSCHED point in the Metasys UI must be specified after the Point Mapping Utility has completed.
- Continue searching for Units boxes with no option selected until all have been examined.
- As mentioned in Appendix: Understanding the SCT and Online UI Insert Point Wizard Point Mapping Utility, new Metasys objects are given the Short Name by default, which should match the names from the VMA14xx PRN application. If any of the Short Names have custom names, update the names to match the custom names.
- Update the point object types as shown in
Table 1 when the point is
created from the CCT resource file.
