Table 1. Wiring connection similarities, differences, and implications for a VAV1xx and FEC
Attribute

VAV1xx

FEC

Implication

I/O Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 1.

See Figure 1.

You can reuse the existing I/O wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the FEC's I/O wiring connection points. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Spade lug connectors

Fixed screw terminal connectors

Remove spade lug connectors from I/O wiring.

N2 Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 1.

See Figure 1.

You can reuse the existing N2 wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the FEC's N2 connection point. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Removable, 3-wire screw terminal connector

Removable, 4-wire screw terminal connector

Replace the UNT's N2 wiring connector with the FEC's N2 connection point.

Power Supply Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 1.

See Figure 1.

You can reuse the existing power supply wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the FEC's power supply connection point. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Spade lug with removable 2-wire screw terminal connector

Removable, 3-wire screw terminal connector

Remove existing connectors from power supply wiring and use FEC's screw connector.

Attribute

VAV1xx

VMA1832

Implication

I/O Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 2.

See Figure 2.

You can reuse the existing I/O wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the VMA1832's I/O wiring connection points. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Spade lugs

Spade lugs

No change is necessary, but be careful when matching the I/O number.

N2 Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 2.

See Figure 2.

You can reuse the existing N2 wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the VMA1832's N2 connection point. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Removable 3-wire screw terminal connector

Removable 4-wire screw terminal connector

Remove connector from the existing N2 wiring and use the VMA1832's screw connector.

Power Supply Wiring

Connection Location

See Figure 2.

See Figure 2.

You can reuse the existing power supply wiring if the existing wiring is long enough to reach the VMA1832's power supply connection point. If not, you need to lengthen the wiring.

Connection Type

Spade lug with removable 3-wire screw terminal connector

2-wire removable screw terminal connector

Remove existing connectors from power supply wiring and use VMA1832's screw connector.
