The DCM is always installed in a Network Control Unit (NCU) or Network Expansion Unit (NEU), two-slot or five-slot enclosure. Replacing a DCM and its FMs involves the removal of these components and the DCM power supply from the NCU or NEU.
If these are the last remaining devices in the enclosure, consider removing the backplane and mounting the replacement devices in the cabinet. Retain the wire guide and add a terminal strip in place of the backplane to facilitate connections to the replacement devices.
If other base-frame components in the same NCU/NEU are to remain, you need to install a new enclosure.
