You can command objects from various features in Metasys UI. Refer to Commanding equipment for more details. In general, commanding for MVE on Metasys UI functions in the same manner as for a non-MVE site, with differences noted below.

Single Commanding: When you command a single validated object on an MVE site, the Commanding window opens the MVE Validation window to prompt you for any required MVE annotation or MVE electronic signature before the command is sent. The MVE Validation prompt does not appear when commanding a non-validated object except when sending the Sync Engine command to an engine. Refer to Commanding equipment for more details.

On only non-MVE sites, the Commanding window includes a field for providing a non-MVE annotation. Refer to How do I add an annotation in the Command window? for more details.

Bulk Commanding: On an MVE site, when you command a set of multiple objects that includes one or more validated objects, the Bulk Command window opens the MVE Validation window to prompt you for any required MVE annotation and/or MVE electronic signature. The MVE Validation prompt does not appear when commanding only non-validated objects except when sending the Sync Engine command to one or more engines. Refer to Commanding equipment for more details.

On only non-MVE sites, the Bulk Command window includes a field for providing a non-MVE annotation. Refer to How do I add an annotation in the Command window? for more details.

Sync Engine Command: The Sync Engine command is used to manually update certain data in the site director's online cache for the Metasys UI. Refer to Table 1 and Why, when, and how do I issue a Sync Engine command? for more details on the Sync Engine command.

On an MVE site, when you send the Sync Engine command to any engine, the MVE Validation window opens to prompt you for both an MVE annotation and an MVE electronic signature, even if the engine is not a validated device. This is required because the command triggers the engine to upload its archive to the site director's online cache for the Metasys UI.
