The following Metasys software and tools require licensing with the Software Manager and the online licensing portal:

  • Metasys Server: ADS, ADX, ADS-Lite, and OAS
  • Metasys software engine: NAE85, LCS85
  • Metasys Export Utility (MEU)
  • Metasys for Validated Environments (MVE)
  • System Configuration Tool (SCT)
  • Controller Configuration Tool (CCT) with Johnson Controls SA Bus Device Package
  • Metasys Field Controller Package (FCP) files
  • Metasys Device Package (DP) files
  • Monitoring and Commanding API
    Note: Monitoring and Commanding API is available only on non-MVE sites.
    Important: The Monitoring and Commanding API feature does not require re-licensing when upgrading from Metasys Release 12.0 or later. Existing customers with Metasys Server software and the Monitoring and Commanding API add-on license from Release 12.0 or later do not need to purchase a new license, as their current license will continue to work for later releases.
  • Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for Metasys Server
    Note: ADFS is available only on non-MVE sites.
  • FIPS 140-2
  • Metasys Fault Detection
    Note: Metasys Fault Detection is available only on non-MVE sites.
  • Metasys Fault Triage (requires licensed Metasys Fault Detection)
    Note: Metasys Fault Triage is available only on non-MVE sites.
    Note: No significant feature additions were made to Fault Detection and Fault Triage at Release 13.0. The Metasys Fault Detection license and Metasys Fault Triage license remain at 11.x and continue to work at 13.x.
  • Metasys OAS Potential Problem Areas Add-on
  • Metasys OAS Historical Data Add-on
  • Metasys OAS Scheduled Reports Add-on
  • Metasys OAS Add-on for two Engines
  • Metasys Site Management Portal (SMP)
    Note: From Release 12.0, SMP is a licensable feature and is only available to certain Metasys site types and restricted from others, as listed below:
    • SMP is available for new and existing MVE sites. For MVE sites, the SMP feature license does not need to be purchased separately, as it is included with the MVE license.
    • SMP is not available for new, non-MVE Metasys installations.
    • SMP is available for existing Metasys sites upgrading Release 11.0 or earlier to Release 12.0 or later. The SMP feature license must be purchased separately.
  • BACnet/SC Management feature
  • Mass Changes Tool (MCT)
    Note: MCT is available only through TL-BUNDLEMS-0 and Metasys server subscriptions.

The Metasys applications and tools listed above do not function until licensed. Licensing is required after a new installation and after a major upgrade or migration. However, when you upgrade an application to a minor release, re-licensing is not required and you can continue to use the same license. MVE software is the only exception as it requires re-licensing for both major and minor releases.
