Table 1. New features and enhancements
Features and enhancements Description
Metasys Server and UI enhancements
  • Server IP Controller Integration: Metasys ADS and ADX servers can now support up to 800 IP controllers (and other devices on the IP integration, such as an IP meter or VRF) through direct BACnet/IP integrations without the need for additional Metasys engines. This provides flexibility and scalability when designing a Metasys installation.
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X Device Management: Metasys ADS and ADX servers now support IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication, enabling an IT department to explicitly allow a device to communicate within their network to further enhance network security.
  • IPv6 support: Metasys ADS and ADX servers now include support for IPv6 to allow Metasys products to exist within large enterprise and government IT networks.
  • OAuth with OpenID Connect (OIDC) and Group to Role mapping: Metasys ADS and ADX servers now support single sign-on with external identity providers and allow for automatic creation of users to enable IT departments to manage user permissions centrally without working in multiple systems.
  • LDAP Secure Support: Active Directory over LDAP Secure facilitates single sign-on and two-factor authentication for Metasys UI users providing secure, encrypted communication, and ensuring sensitive data is protected.
  • Energy Dashboard and Reporting: Metasys ADS and ADX servers can now be licensed to provide a new way to visualize energy consumption, energy usage, and energy production data through rebuilt dashboards and widgets. This new functionality is being offered on a trial basis through a trial license.
  • New Graphics Editor User Permissions: Metasys UI now supports additional user permissions to allow for non-administrative users to create and edit Metasys UI graphics.
  • System Activity Enhancements: Metasys UI System Activity now supports viewing the current status of alarms and events to help with system troubleshooting.
  • Warning Banners: Metasys UI now supports enabling United States government agency Warning Banners providing the flexibility needed for Metasys installations required to meet U.S. Department of Defence (DoD), U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), U.S. Department of Transporation (DOT) or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards.
Metasys SNx Engines enhancements
  • IEEE 802.1X Device Management: Metasys SNx series engines now support IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication, enabling an IT department to explicitly allow a device to communicate within their network to further enhance network security.
  • IPv6 Support: Metasys SNx series engines now include support for IPv6 to allow Metasys products to exist within large enterprise and government IT networks.
  • Device Health Indicator: Metasys SNx series engines now include the ability to monitor 28 engine attributes to help determine device health.
Enhancements to Metasys-related offerings
  • Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) IP Network Wizard Tool enhancements: The Johnson Controls MRP Wizard Tool now supports the configuration of the Cisco IE 3100 network switch through an easy-to-use spreadsheet.
  • Turnkey Servers: Enhancements to the Metasys Turnkey Servers for OAS, ADS, and ADX include additional RAM to provide better performance now and in the future.
