C·CURE 9000 Access Control
A security management system for commercial buildings manufactured by Tyco Software House. Beginning at Metasys Release 10.0, the C·CURE 9000 access control system can be interfaced to network engines using a vendor integration driver.
Certificate
A digital file used as a cybersecurity technique to establish identity and ownership of a public or private key. BACnet/SC requires ECC certificates only. See Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC).
CEG
Connected Equipment Gateway (CEG). A connectivity device that streams chiller data to the customer facing Connected Equipment Portal (CEP) web application and interfaces equipment through the BACnet open protocol.
CGM
General Purpose Application MS/TP Equipment Controller. CGMs are versatile equipment controllers designed to monitor, control, and integrate a wide variety of HVAC and other building equipment. These controllers support BACnet MS/TP and N2 communication protocols. In MS/TP mode, these equipment controllers are BACnet network compliant devices. Controllers running in N2 mode can be used to maintain or modernize sites with installed legacy Johnson Controls® controllers. CGMs can come with or without onboard local display and keypad.
CGE
General Purpose Application Ethernet Equipment Controller. CGEs are versatile equipment controllers designed to monitor, control, and integrate a wide variety of HVAC and other building equipment. These controllers communicate using BACnet/IP or BACnet/SC. CGEs on the BACnet/IP or BACnet/SC building automation network support three different topologies: daisy-chained, star, and ring. CGEs can come with or without onboard local display and keypad.
Chanalyzer
The Chanalyzer is a wireless spectrum analyzer that you can use to check how the wireless environment is set up in a building, to make sure any wireless Metasys products have open frequencies for their use. You can also use this analyzer as a troubleshooting tool after a wireless ZFR system installation.
Change of Value (COV)
Data clients subscribe to an object for COV reporting. The device monitors the value of the object property, monitors the subscription list and the change criteria. When the change criteria are met the devices sends notifications of the new value to the subscribers.
Client user interface
A computer software application running on a computer (called the client) that provides connection to another computer (called the server) that is running a building automation system. In the context of the Metasys system, building operators log on to the Site Management Portal UI or Metasys UI from their client computer to access the Metasys server, for example, an ADS).
Control System
Name used for a custom control logic application that runs in a building equipment controller.
Controller Configuration Tool (CCT)
Controller Configuration Tool. This tool configures, simulates, loads, and commissions devices on IP and MS/TP controllers. You can configure the following devices with CCT: SNCs, CGMs, CGEs, CVMs, CVEs, XPMs, NCEs, FACs, FECs, VMAs, IOMs, PCAs, PCGs, PCVs, PCXs, and VAVs.
CVM
VAV Box MS/TP Controller. The CVM equipment controllers are designed for variable air volume (VAV) box applications. These controllers support BACnet MS/TP and N2 communication protocols. In MS/TP mode, these equipment controllers are BACnet network compliant devices. You can use controllers running in N2 mode to maintain or modernize sites with installed legacy Johnson Controls controllers.
CVE
VAV Box Ethernet Controller. The CVE equipment controllers are designed for variable air volume (VAV) box applications. These controllers communicate using BACnet/IP or BACnet/SC. CVEs on the BACnet/IP or BACnet/SC building automation network support three different topologies: daisy-chained, star, and ring.
Cyber Health Dashboard
A feature of Metasys UI that informs and educates Metasys system administrators of user account information, system information, and most importantly, possible security risks.
