BACnet/IP devices are connected directly to the IP Ethernet network. The network engine communicates with the devices using the BACnet protocol and presents the BACnet data to the system in the same way as the other data in the Metasys system. The following figure shows the SNE1050 integrated into the Metasys network. Other BACnet/IP devices are integrated in the same way.

The NAE85 allows integration of larger BACnet integration
projects.
Important: From
Release 13.0 and Releases 11.0 or earlier, the NAE85 can be either a
Site Director or a child device to a Site Director. However, at
Release 12.0 only, the NAE85 must be a Site Director and cannot be a
child device. In the following configuration, an NAE85 can be used
in place of the ADS/ADX Site Director, or as a child device
reporting to the ADS/ADX Site Director.
