About this task
This section provides an overview on how to close ports if required. Closing ports can have unforeseen effects on other parts of your system. The example in this section shows blocking inbound Port 80; you can block outbound Port 80 as well by defining an outbound rule, although the servers and network engines do not communicate out of Port 80. For more information on port requirements, refer to the Network and IT Guidance Technical Bulletin (LIT-12011279) .
