About this task

Backups are saved as .backup files and stored in the following directory:

C:\ProgramData\Johnson Controls\MetasysIII\DatabaseFiles

To back up an archive database:

Procedure

  1. Open an archive database.
  2. On the Tools menu, select Database.
  3. Select Create Backup.
    A message appears telling you that the backup was successful.
  4. Click OK.
    Note: Make a copy of each backup file and store it in a safe location. The copy is intended as a second backup in case the original backup file is deleted. Do not rename the backup file because it does not restore properly using a different name (it is case sensitive).
