CIM has built-in redundancy mechanisms which ensure system availability and meet uptime requirements for mission-critical applications. CIM provides multi-level redundancy, which includes application, database, operating system, and server hardware. You can configure the system as Active – Standby configuration with millisecond bumpless switchover or Active – Active configuration as appropriate to the criticality of the application. Below are commonly used redundancy configurations:
- Unified server redundancy - Two or more servers configured as redundant for both application and database.
- Split server redundancy
- Application server redundancy - Two or more servers configured as redundant.
- Historical server redundancy - Two or more servers configured as redundant.
- Common redundant servers - Single high-end server used as stand-by server for multiple other servers.
