About this task

To define the connection to an MQTT broker, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. To add a new broker, select the BROKER Definition tab, and click the Add icon.
  2. To configure the broker definition, complete one of the following options:
    • To use a predefined broker definition, complete the following steps:
      1. Click the ellipses button. See MQTT Client configuration libraries.
      2. From the predefined broker definition list, select the broker definition that you want.
      3. Click Select and Close.
      4. Click the Save icon.
    • To configure a new generic broker definition complete the following steps:
      1. In the Broker ID field, enter a Broker ID. See Broker definition parameters.
      2. From the Broker solution drop-box, select the Generic MQTT.
      3. In the Host field, enter the IP or host name of the broker.
      4. In the Port field, enter the port number of the broker.
      5. In the Client ID field, enter the name of the MQTT Client that you want to connect to the broker.
      6. To create a new session, select the Clean Session check box.
      7. Click the Save icon.
