If you install LCS85 software for a release, you must license the LCS85 with the Software Manager. You must re-license the LCS85 when you upgrade the LCS85 software, for example, from Release 9.0 to Release 10.0. You can use the same license if you need to upgrade to a minor release. To verify if your software is licensed, see Verifying and maintaining the software license.

If you try to log on to an LCS85 that is not licensed, an Unlicensed Software Detected dialog box appears with the option to Open License Manager. Click Open License Manager to open the Software Manager.

Note: All system-generated warnings and error messages related to licensing are logged by the LCS85 at: Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > JCI Enforced Licensing Log and Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > JCILicensing. Licensing issues detected by the Software Manager are logged in a separate location. Refer to Software Manager Help (LIT-12012389).

The Software Manager is used to license the LCS85. Using the Windows Start menu, enter Software Manager in the search field and select Software Manager from the search results. Refer to Software Manager Help (LIT-12012389) for more information
