About this task

Important: If you are installing a driver upgrade over the existing driver, you can skip this section. Back up your LCS85 database before you upgrade your software driver. If you restart the LCS after you remove the software driver, the process deletes the Metasys LonWorks Integration information from the database. To prevent this issue and ensure that you preserve your database, you must stop and disable the Metasys III Device Manager service.

To stop and disable the Metasys Device III Manager service, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the Control Panel, browse to System and Security > Administrative Tools and double-click Services.
  2. In the Services window, right-click Metasys III Device Manager and click Stop.
  3. Right-click the Metasys III Device Manager again and click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, select Disabled from the Startup type drop-down menu to disable the Metasys III Device Manager Service.
Note: You need to enable the Metasys III Device Manager Service again after you upgrade your driver.
