Procedure

To trigger a BACnet/SC factory reset on a physical IP equipment controller, the controller's Rotary Switches must enter a specific sequence of three controller numbers that the controller reads.

Note: The SA BUS LED single blink in Step 1 and Step 2 applies only to controllers with no device configured or connected to the SA Bus. Otherwise, the LED operates as normal with either a regular 1 Hz blinking or it is steady ON. In this case, focus only on FAULT LED during the reset procedure.
Note: If the four seconds timer expires in Step 1 or Step 2, it is indicated by a single long blink. In this case, repeat the process in Step 1 – enter 999, wait for a single quick blink, and continue.
  1. Enter 999. The FAULT and SA BUS LEDs show a single quick blink. Within four seconds, enter the next number in Step 2.
  2. Enter 979. The FAULT and SA BUS LEDs show a single quick blink. Within four seconds, enter the next number in step 3.
  3. Enter 989. The FAULT and SA BUS LEDs flash at the same time at a slow rate for about 30 seconds.

Results

When you trigger the BACnet/SC factory reset, the controller internally writes its IP Communication Mode attribute back to BACnet/IP mode and wipes all BACnet/SC credentials from the controller.
