About this task

A device in the factory defaults condition does not have operational credentials configured and does not contain any site-specific sensitive data. When you perform a reset to the factory defaults condition, you erase all operational certificates and respective private keys and all CA certificates from all BACnet/SC network ports. The reset also erases all sensitive data contained in the device.

You rarely need to perform a reset to factory defaults condition. However, a reset is needed, for example, if you have to move devices from one site to another, or if you return a device for repair.

After a factory reset, you must re-configure the BACnet/SC settings and BACnet/SC credentials for the device, including CA certificates and operational certificates.
