| Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X compliance | 802.1X is an IEEE standard for Port-Based Network Access Control (PNAC) and provides protected authentication for secure network access. An IEEE 802.1X network has an authentication RADIUS server included. This server checks a user's credentials. IEEE 802.1X allows unique credentials or certificates to be used for each user, which eliminates the reliance on a single network password that can easily be stolen. From Metasys Release 14.0, the ADS and ADX are IEEE 802.1X compliant. |
