About this task

Important: Complete the steps in Preparing the Turnkey computer and Using an existing archive or creating a new archive before you follow the steps in this section. Renaming the computer is only one step in the process of changing the name of the ADS/ADX .
Note: If you do not complete 10 through 12 correctly, the Metasys Database Manager displays the incorrect name for the SQL Server database.

Procedure

  1. In Control Panel, navigate to System and Security > System.
  2. Click Change settings, and, if the User Access Control dialog box appears, click Yes.
  3. Click Change.
  4. In the Computer name field, enter the new ADS/ADX name from 6 of Preparing the Turnkey computer. If this computer is a member of a domain, enter the domain in the Domain field. If the computer name included a DNS suffix, enter the DNS suffix.
    Note: If you join the computer to a domain, the DNS suffix appears automatically. If you join the computer to a workgroup, the DNS suffix is optional.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK when you are prompted to restart the computer.
  7. Close all windows.
  8. Restart the computer, and then sign in to Windows.
  9. Wait five minutes to ensure that all Windows services start fully.
  10. In the Start menu search field, enter cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue or Yes.
  11. In Command Prompt, type the following command and then press Enter:

    cd C:\ProgramData\Johnson Controls\MetasysIII\SQLData\SSRSsync1

  12. Type SQLRename.bat and press Enter. If you need SA user access rights to SQL Server, type SQLRename.bat [SA user name] [password] and press Enter. A script runs in the command window.
  13. after the script completes, close the Command Prompt window.
  14. Restart the computer, then sign in to Windows.
  15. Go to Reinstalling Metasys software and renaming the Site Director in Metasys Database Manager .
