When the UA connects to a two-stage furnace, you can configure the UA to monitor the indoor control’s auxiliary switch input.
When the switch activates, the UA either shuts off or stages down compressor operation based on a configurable parameter, for five minutes. If the auxiliary switch is still active after the five minutes, the UA continues to affect compressor operation until the auxiliary switch deactivates.
You can disable or enable the auxiliary switch operation with the
parameter in the following way:- Disabled: the UA does not affect compressor operation based on the auxiliary switch behavior.
- Enabled Open: if the auxiliary switch is open, the UA affects compressor operation for at least five minutes.
- Enabled Close: if the auxiliary switch is closed, the UA affects compressor operation for at least five minutes.
You can configure the auxiliary switch action separately for the system’s heating and cooling operation with the
and the parameter in the following way:- Stage Down: the UA stages down compressor operation for at least five minutes based on the auxiliary switch behavior.
- Shut Off Comp: the UA shuts off the compressor for at least five minutes based on the auxiliary switch behavior.
