About this task
In the following task, use the 3/8 in. hex nut or the 1 in. (25.4 mm) or 2 in. (50.8 mm) Delrin spacer.
Procedure
- Drill a 3/8 in. (9.52 mm) hole in the board or panel and insert the two sensor wires through the hole.
- Thread the hex nut or 1 in. (25.4 mm) or 2 in. (50.8 mm) spacer onto the sensor until tight.
- If the plate or panel is relatively thin, similar to a one gang junction box cover, use the 1 in. (25.4 mm) or 2 in. (50.8 mm) Delrin spacer. The Delrin spacer insulates the sensor from any drafts inside the wall.
- Insert a small piece of foam or insulation in the bottom of the Delrin spacer to better insulate the sensor.
