About this task

When a new version of Software Manager is available, you receive a notification when you launch Software Manager.

Note: The computer must be connected to the Internet to be able to download the latest software.

Procedure

  1. In the New Updates Available window, click Update to update Software Manager immediately. Alternatively, click Remind me later if you want to update Software Manager at another time.
  2. In the Browse For Folder window, click OK to download the software package to your Downloads folder.
  3. When the download is complete the Software Manager Setup window appears. Click Upgrade to continue the installation process.
    Note: You cannot cancel the upgrade process after you click Upgrade.
    Note: If you click X to close the window instead of clicking Upgrade, services related to the upgrade installation, such as JCILicenseService, JCINextGenLicenseService, and JCIProductUpdateService stop running. You must go to Services.msc and start these services manually to be able to launch and use the existing version of Software Manager.
  4. When the upgrade is complete, click Finish.
    Note: If your machine requires a restart to complete the setup process, a prompt to Restart Now instead of Finish appears.
