About this task

If an error indicates that your local license or update service may not be running, check the Windows Services (may require administrator access).

Note: If a Windows service stops, any other services that are configured as dependent on it may also stop. Always verify that any dependent services are also restarted if necessary.

Procedure

  1. Start Services.
Note: To open Windows Services, refer to the operating system documentation.
  2. To access and use the Licenses tab, find JCILicenseService and check its status. This can be Started or Running depending on your operating system.
  3. To access and use the Updates tab, find JCIProductUpdateService and check its status. This can be Started or Running depending on your operating system.
    Note:
    • If the JCILicenseService is running and the JCIProductUpdateService is not, you can still access the Licenses tab.
    • If the JCIProductUpdateService is running and the JCILicenseService is not, you cannot access the Updates tab.
  4. If the status is blank or Stopped, select the service, and click Start or right-click and click Start.
