About this task

When an error occurs, the local license service may log additional information. Use the Windows Event Viewer to check for licensing log entries as follows:

Procedure

  1. Start Event Viewer.
    Note: To open Event Viewer, refer to the operating system documentation.
  2. Expand Applications and Services Logs.
  3. Click JCILicensing for errors.
    Note: To identify which error is related to the Licenses tab or the Updates tab, you need to look at the source column under JCILicensing. If the error relates to the user interface then the source is the SoftwareManager. If the error relates to the licensing service then the source is LicensingService. If the error relates to the Product Update service, then the source is ProductUpdateService.
