Procedure

  1. Click on the Machine Tag link in the Software Manager's main window. The Machine Tag dialog box appears with the current Machine Tag data, if available.
  2. Enter a new Machine Tag in the Machine Tag dialog box.
    Note: The Machine Tag cannot be blank and must not exceed 300 characters.
  3. Click Save to close the Machine Tag dialog box. The Software Manager sends the new machine tag value to the License Portal and updates its main screen.
    Note: When you click Save and the Machine Tag value field is blank, the following message appears: Field Validation Error. If an error occurs that prevents the Machine Tag from saving, the following message appears: Machine Tag Save Failed. See Troubleshooting for more information about errors that might occur.
