An online machine that runs the Software Manager automatically retrieves the most recent Machine Tag at the following times:
- On application start-up
- When the user manually refreshes the main window using the refresh icon of the Licenses tab. See Software Manager introduction.
- When the user initiates an online activation
- When the user opens the Machine Tag dialog box
For online machines that run the Software Manager, the user can complete the following actions using the Machine Tag dialog box:
- View the complete Machine Tag name
- Update the Machine Tag
- View the last updated time stamp Note: The time stamp displays the date and time of the most recent update to the Machine Tag. For undefined Machine Tags, it displays as:
Never(unavailable). If the Software Manager has never retrieved the Machine Tag, it displays as:Unknown.
