This document describes how you use the Software Manager to manage Johnson Controls® software licenses on a machine and view and download the available product updates. When you open the Software Manager, you can access the Licenses tab and the Updates tab. The Licenses tab displays the License Inventory table with information about licenses. You can access the Choose Actions menu in the License Actions column to activate and deactivate licenses both online and offline, start a grace period, view grace license details, and view the history of a license.
The Updates tab displays information about available updates with details such as available update version, released date, release notes, and product highlights. You can use the Download button to download the necessary files to complete an update. If there is no Internet connection, the Updates tab loads the offline content but does not load online content such as product highlights and you cannot download the software updates.
When you run the Software Manager on a machine that has an Internet connection, you can use the online method for license activation and deactivation, and it simplifies and automates the process. See Online Activation or Online Deactivation. When you run the Software Manager on a machine without an Internet connection, you must use the offline method for license activation and deactivation. If you use the offline method, you still require access to the License Portal from a machine with an Internet connection to download and upload the files needed for the offline process.
